Fly Stitch

Fly stitch is a flexible embroidery stitch that makes open V-shaped or looped marks, often used for leaves, branches, and decorative lines. To do it: bring the needle up, push it down a short distance, then bring it up a bit farther while trapping the thread under the needle to form a loop. Anchor the loop with a small stitch at the tip to change size and texture. Use it in rows, scattered patterns, or as a filler — it gives a light, airy look to simple and detailed designs.
