Fishbone Stitch

The fishbone stitch fills areas like leaves and petals with a smooth, slightly raised texture. Work along a center line, stitching alternately left and right so threads overlap toward the tip and form a V-shaped, scaled pattern. Keep stitch length consistent and tension a bit looser at the base, firmer toward the tip, for a tapered look. Finish with small anchoring stitches and press gently from the back to settle the threads.
