Back Stitch

Back stitch is my most-used stitch in my designs. It is a versatile stitch that creates a neat, continuous line. Easy to learn and quick to sew, it’s a go-to for beginners and pros. Bring the needle up ahead of the last stitch, then insert it at the end of the previous stitch to form an unbroken seam. It’s ideal for outlines, lettering, and fine details—lying flat, resisting snags, and durable. Use one or more strands for thickness. For small curves, use tiny back stitches, while longer back stitches can be used where the line is straighter.
