Ring Stitch

Ring stitch is a decorative hand embroidery stitch that makes small circular knots like tiny rings or flowers. To do it, push the needle up through the fabric, make a loop with the thread, then insert the needle back near the first hole and pass it through the loop before tightening. Size and texture change with thread thickness and tension. Use ring stitches for flower centers, buds, or clustered accents. For more dimension, stack or overlap stitches or use several strands of floss.
